FEATURES OF THE DAHLE ROTARY PAPER TRIMMER

The Dahle Rotary Paper Trimmer has grid lines in both inches and metric values, and you can easily align the material so you can perform precise trimming. It will allow you to cut in any direction, which can save you time and improve your efficiency when you need to trim multiple items. The self-sharpening blade will produce a clean, burr-free cut every single time and will give you years of precise trimming. The blade is inside a plastic housing, which makes this trimmer safer to use. And the adjustable paper guide makes it easy to align the material for repetitive cutting. It even has an automatic paper clamp that will keep the material in place. And because it has a sturdy metal base, the surface will never warp, crack, or chip. If you want to pick up this quality tool, go to Engineering Supply today!

ADVANTAGES OF THE DAHLE PAPER SHREDDER

The steel frame of the Dahle Paper Shredder keeps everything in perfect alignment. And because it has cutting cylinders that are made of solid steel, it’s more durable than a stacked cutting head. Not only will it shred documents, but it can also handle paper clips and staples. It’s chain-driven cutting mechanism will give you continuous slip-free power, and the rubber chain mounts reduce vibration (which makes it one of the quietest shredders on the market). The wooden cabinet with rolling casters makes it easy to put it in its proper place, and many of the functions can be performed with the use of a simple control panel. Feel free to look at what we have in our store, so you can find a paper shredder that’s right for you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does blueprint paper turn blue?

Blueprinting was developed in the mid-1800’s, when scientists found that ammonium iron citrate and potassium ferrocyanine created a solution that was sensitive to light (which can be used to reproduce documents). Someone would create a design on a piece of translucent paper or cloth, which was placed over a piece of blueprint paper that had been coated with this mixture. And when both were exposed to bright light, the chemicals reacted to form a blue compound called blue ferric ferrocyanide (also called “Prussian Blue”).

What type of paper is used for blueprints?

To find out the best type of blueprint paper for your specific needs, you should ask the following questions:
  • What are the prints going to be used for?
  • How long does it need to last?
  • How good does it need to look?
You’ll most likely have to think about investing in some type of blueprint storage, so you can keep your designs in a safe place.

What are the two main types of blueprints?

There are two main types of technical drawings: plans and blueprints. A plan (also called a floor plan, remodeling plan, or room plan) is a scaled drawing of a particular building, home, or room. They can also include doors, windows, as well as other major fixtures or appliances. And they can be used to determine the square footage of an area or act as a guide during the design process. Blueprints are more detailed plans of a specific remodeling or construction project, which got its name from the process that was used to duplicate these documents.

What is the size of blueprint paper?

Architectural drawings will come in the following sizes:
  • ARCH A: 9 x 12 inches
  • ARCH B: 12 x 18 inches
  • ARCH C: 18 x 24 inches
  • ARCH D: 24 x 36 inches
  • ARCH E: 36 x 48 inches
Engineering drawings will come in the following sizes:
  • ANSI A: 8.5 x 11 inches
  • ANSI B: 11 x 17 inches
  • ANSI C: 17 x 22 inches
  • ANSI D: 22 x 24 inches
  • ANSI E: 34 x 44 inches

How are blueprints made?

Blueprints were invented in 1842, and it was a way to copy certain documents that were printed on a type of translucent paper (which was treated with a certain mixture that turned blue when it was exposed to bright light). While this process is now obsolete, the term “blueprint” is used to refer to any type of architectural or technical drawing.
