HOW TO ASSEMBLE THE LUXOR WHITEBOARD

To assemble the Luxor Whiteboard, you first want to place the vertical supports on a table and line them up with the shorter horizontal supports. Bolt them together with a wrench and washer, and make sure that they’re securely in place. Put a small washer at the end of each caster stem and thread it onto the bottom. Tighten the nut by hand, and secure it with a wrench. Line up the lower bottom support with the screw holes of each vertical assembly, and secure them in place with a bolt and washer by using a wrench. Place the locking ring into the pre-drilled hole on the center piece, and attach it to both sides at the screw holes in the middle. Attach the large whiteboard by screwing the knobs through the holes on each side, and remove the plastic cover from the surface.

HOW TO MOUNT THE LUXOR WB SERIES WHITEBOARD

To mount the Luxor WB Series Whiteboard, start by inserting the tray into the bottom groove. You also want to snap two horizontal chalk lines at the heights indicated on the drawing provided, and drill eight quarter-inch holes as specified. Snap a chalk line between the marks that have been made from the floor to the bottom. Then, snap a chalk line between the marks at the top. Place the plastic inserts into the drilled holes on the wall, and attach brackets at the top and bottom using long screws. Line up the whiteboard’s holes located on the edge with the ones on each bracket, and screw it securely in place. Remove the plastic cover from the front of the whiteboard, and it will be ready for use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are whiteboards magnetic?

Because there’s a layer of metal underneath, a magnet will stick to a whiteboard. But it doesn’t mean it’s magnetic. So, you won’t be able to stick piece of metal to it. Be sure to look at what we have at Engineer Supply, so you can find a large whiteboard or any other product you may need.

Can whiteboards be used outdoors?

While most whiteboards look solid, it doesn’t mean they’re waterproof. The actual surface you write on may be resistant to water, and it can be cleaned with a damp cloth without causing damage. You can even spray a special whiteboard cleaning fluid if you need something more thorough. But despite their resilience, they still won’t work well in an outdoor environment.

How can whiteboards be used in classrooms?

It can be hard to keep students engaged, especially with all of today’s distractions. This is where a large whiteboard can come in handy. It’s an amazing and inexpensive way to keep your students interested. Here are some ways that you can use a whiteboard in the classroom:
  • Brainstorming— Review or explore a new subject or idea. Divide your students into groups of two or three, and give them a concept about which they can brainstorm. They can use a whiteboard to write down their ideas.
  • Q&A Session— You can ask the class a question, and they can use a rolling whiteboard to write out a short response.
  • Practice Vocabulary— Teachers can write multiple choice answers on a whiteboard, while their students write down which answers they think are correct.
  • Math Problems— Writing out math problems on a large whiteboard can give students the freedom to retract or erase their steps while they work on math problems.
  • Spelling— Break your students into groups of three or four, and let them take turns spelling out words. You can even turn it into a competition by giving bonus points to the winning group.
These are some of the ways that a rolling whiteboard can be used in a classroom, but there may be other ways that this tool can be used to keep students engaged.

When were whiteboards invented?

The first whiteboard (or dry-erase board) was invented by Martin Heit in the early 1960’s, which was called “Plasti-slate.” But a man named Albert Stallion (who was an employee of a steel production company) has also been credited with its invention.

What's the best way to clean a whiteboard?

You can use any of the following products to clean a whiteboard:
  • Hand sanitizer.
  • Rubbing alcohol.
  • Non-acetane nail polish remover.
  • Vinegar
  • WD-40.
Follow these steps to clean a rolling whiteboard with any of the liquids listed above:
  • Pour a small amount of liquid onto a sponge or soft cloth.
  • Wipe the entire surface of the board.
  • Wipe the board again with plain water.
  • Dry the board completely.
  • Repeat the process if necessary.
Cleaning it with a whiteboard cleaner every two or three days will keep it looking good throughout its life, which comes in a spray bottles or a set of disposable wipes. This will make sure the ink doesn’t stay on the board for too long, because it can cause stains.
