EngineerSupply and Schonstedt announces the release of the "Maggie" Magnetic Locator
7-27-2015
This week, EngineerSupply along with the Schonstedt Instrument Company announces the release of the "Maggie" Magnetic Locator. The Maggie is a new product that is very innovative in that it combines two long-time Schonstedt models into one new model named the "Maggie". Schonstedt took years of customer and user input while supporting their GA52-Cx model and their ergonomic 92 model. Combining the relability of their 52Cx and the ergonomic handle of their 92 is the result of the Maggies unique approach to Magnetic Locator design. All of Schonstedts Magnetic Locators are made in the USA.
For someone not familiar with Magnetic Locators and what they are used for, they are more technically named "Ferro Magnetic Location Equipment", with Ferro meaning ferrous material must exist in the material that the locator is detecting. Items with ferrous in them are iron ore type products such as ductile iron pipe, buried manhole lid covers, valve and meter boxes, rebar that's used for property corners, as well as some utilities. Basically speaking, if a magnet will stick to it, a magnetic locator will detect it. Land Surveyors and Utility and Maintenance Workers are just some of the few professionals that rely on magnetic locators. The size and mass of an object being located determines the depth at which a magnetic locator can detect.
Schonstedt products are precision instruments designed and built with the heliflux patented technology. Other brands of magnetic locators on the markets use ring core sensors made from less quality which results in less precision.
