You want to place the tripod in a horizontal position, so you can extend the outer pole to the desired height. Turn it over to a vertical position, and balance it to a set ground point. You then want to extend the legs, so you can kick them into the ground. Make sure you do one leg at a time, so the tripod will stay secure in the correct spot. Turn the center pole until the bubble is facing you, and center it accordingly. Then, center each leg before locking it in place. Install the antenna by removing the plug at the top and screwing it on the bottom. This will allow you to attach the unit to the tripod at the proper place. It has an adjustable pivot that will allow you to move the antenna in a way that will give you optimal results. And when you’re ready to break it down, simply perform each step in the reverse order.

With unmatched stability, accuracy, and durability, the Crain Tri-Max Tripod stands above all other surveyor’s tripods on the market. And it’s the only one with certified accuracy. It outperforms all other tripods in both functionality and compatibility with special appliances, and it has an ergonomic design. Tripod stability is more important as instruments become more accurate. And because it uses premium materials (including a balanced fiberglass composite), it has a rugged design throughout. The Crain Tri-Max has a larger head and center hole, which makes setup easier. And its interior rotating system prevents leg kickout or accidental falls, which can happen on slick surfaces. Each tripod comes with a 5-year warranty. So if you want to look at what we have in our store, feel free to browse through our inventory. Depending on the type of work they do, land surveyors may go through slightly different processes. Construction and engineering surveyors look at the changes in property lines and identify the locations of specific structures (such as buildings and roads). Geodetic surveyors use satellite and aerial imaging to measure large sections of the earth, while boundary or land surveyors map out property lines. Surveyors must be able to stand by their work, so they're required to produce accurate numbers. That’s why they need to have the right tools.

Some of the more common types of surveying equipment include but may not be limited to:
  • Surveyor’s tripods
  • Builder’s laser levels
  • Theodolites
  • Total stations
  • Transit levels
  • Automatic levels
  • Grade rods
  • Prism poles
  • GPS equipment
  • Rover poles
