PAPER FOR DRAFTING

Can a printer print on vellum paper?

Because the surface of printable vellum paper isn’t porous like regular paper, it won’t absorb the ink. So if you print on vellum paper, make sure you don’t touch the ink before it dries because it will smear. And unless you're there to remove it immediately, you shouldn’t print more than one sheet at a time. You can also use a hair dryer set on low to dry the ink more quickly.

Can I glue vellum paper?

Because it won’t absorb glue like other papers, vellum needs a special kind of adhesive. It will also need that extra touch if you want it done correctly. Regular craft glues are going to glob, which will show through the paper. So, you want to make sure you use an adhesive that’s made specifically for translucent vellum paper.

Can I iron vellum paper?

Ironing a piece of translucent vellum paper under a towel or cloth will make it flat, but the wrinkle and crease lines will still be visible. Set the iron on low heat and press it into the towel (while making adjustments as necessary).
