HOW THE ZIP LEVEL IS THE WORLD’S ONLY BUBBLE FREE ALTIMETER

A bubble inside a hydrostatic altimeter can cause endless errors, which makes it useless. A half-inch bubble can cause your measurements to be off by an inch. If the tube gets stepped on, it can create a 5/8-inch bubble within minutes, while a snag can create a two-inch bubble. If you run it over with a minivan, you'll see a froth of microbubbles that can grow in a short amount of time. That’s why you need to keep the tube below the reservoir while it’s in storage and in use. The Zip Level is the only pressurized altimeter that makes storage and use much simpler, and it’s faster than lasers and bubble levels.

THE ZIP LEVEL HIGH-PRECISION ALTIMETER REPLACES ROTARY LASERS

The Zip Level can be set up in seconds, and you can get what you need by yourself in minutes. Just unpack it, turn on the power, read any deviations from a level plane, and pack it up. A unipod is includes with the device, so you can make measurements while you’re standing. With a single setup, you’ll have a vertical range of 40 feet over a 200-foot circle. And you can measure unlimited distances or elevations without the need for complex calculations. Unlike conventional levels, it won’t amplify errors with distance. And it never needs a factory calibration. It requires no indoor or outdoor line-of-sight. And because it’s both impact and water resistant, it can withstand years of rugged use.

THE PERFECT TOOL FOR MAKING QUICK AND ACCURATE LEVEL MEASUREMENTS

The Zip Level offers a simple way to make quick and accurate measurements of elevation and grade. And compared to other leveling products (including laser levels), it’s considered to be the most efficient altimeter on the market. With simple setup and storage, this tool can be operated without the need for a second person. And because the tube is housed inside the unit while it’s not in use, it can prevent endless errors and inaccuracies. This can save you both time and money while you’re on the job site. Feel free to look at what we have in stock, so you can find the perfect leveling product for your specific needs.

SINGLE-PERSON OPERATION FOR IMPROVED EFFICIENCY

With the need for a second person, the Zip Level can make your work more efficient because you can do it all by yourself. It never has to be calibrated, and you never have to make complex calculation. You can simply read the level measurement on the display. Time is money when you’re on the job site, so you need to have the right tools. And when you’re measuring elevation and grade, you can’t go wrong with the Zip Level. With this tool, you can measure anything from the thickness of paper to the height of a mountain. So if you want the best altimeter on the market, be sure to look at what we have at Engineering Supply.

With all the measuring tools available on the market, it may be hard to know which one you need. But as it is often the case with construction, it will depend on the job itself. Here are some of the more common types of measuring tools:

  • Digital Tape Measures — Also called a laser tape measure, this tool can measure the time it takes to register a reflected pulse from an outbound laser beam. And because it works according to the phase shift principle, it can instantaneously determine the distance that the beam has traveled.
  • Measuring Tapes — This tried-and-true method of measurement can work in situations where a digital tape measure isn’t up to the task. They’re portable tools that can clip onto a belt, and they can measure maximum distances between 100 and 300 feet as it unspools from a reel.
  • Measuring Wheels — If you need to measure a distance that’s greater than 300 feet, this tool will be your best choice. A handle is attached to a calibration wheel, which measures the traveled distance via a counter that you can read. You use a measuring wheel by pushing it over the terrain you want to measure.

  • Whichever type of tool you need, you can find it at Engineering Supply. Feel free to look at what we have in our store. We’re sure you’ll be able to find one that will meet your specific needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a ZipLevel?

A ZipLevel is a high-precision hydrostatic altimeter that works like what’s on an aircraft. It measures the weight of the air above it, except it doesn’t use the atmosphere to measure elevation. It’s a pressurized system that measures the weight of a proprietary liquid, which is sealed within its cord relative to a reference cell inside the hub of its reel. It’s as precise as an aircraft altimeter, but it's not affected by barometric pressure and changes in altitude. The internal pressure keeps the bubble from desorbing from its liquid while it’s under vacuum and when the module is above base unit, which is one of its most powerful features.

What is a ZipLevel used for?

A ZipLevel can measure a 200-foot circle and 40 feet vertically on one setup with a 0.050 internal precision. It can also measure over four feet vertically with paper-thin internal precision. It has 16 built-in functions and a PC Serial port. It will even operate in a broad range of temperatures for up to a year of daily use on a single 9-volt battery.

How accurate is a ZipLevel?

A ZipLevel can give you vertical measurements with paper-thin precision (at 0.0005”) for distances of over four feet. The built-in Carry Function also keeps your original benchmark over an unlimited range without differential leveling tabulations, tedious calculations, and endless errors.

How do I use a ZipLevel Pro 2000?

A ZipLevel Pro 2000 lets you read elevations quickly and easily without needing someone else’s help, which is something you can’t do with a rotary laser. And it will give you what you need in unmistakably clear digits. It eliminates the need for rods, tripods, sensors, line-of-sight, errors with distance, factory calibration, and tedious calculations.

Where can I buy a quality zip laser?

If you’re looking for a zip laser that can give you an accurate vertical distance, you can find what you need at Engineer Supply. We have a variety of measurement tools from top-rated manufacturers, so feel free to look at what we have in our store.
