KEY FEATURES OF THE FLAGSHOOTER

The Flagshooter allows you to shoot utility flags into the ground. Just open the door, insert a clip of flags, close the door, and shoot the flags into the ground. You can also purchase the Flagshooter caddy system, which can be your “one-stop shop” for multiple utility locators. Load it up with whatever you need, and you can take the caddy wherever you want to go. The Flagshooter’s spray can system makes marking a snap, which is one of the many reasons why this product can get your locating job done over 30% faster — all while reducing strain on your back and muscles. Be sure to pick yours up at Engineer Supply today!

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR FLAGSHOOTER

The Flagshooter is designed to work right away, so there’s no assembly or complicated manual. Aside from the Flaghooter itself, it comes with a warranty manual, a DVD, and a set of practice flags you can use to get a feel for how it works. The Flagshooter uses a specific set of flags that are designed for the unit, so you shouldn’t use standard flags with this device. To load the Flagshooter, open the door, load the flags, and close it back up again. On the back of the unit, you’ll see a quiver that allows you to store an extra two or three clips of Flagshooter flags. To shoot them, all you need is a steady arm, and the depth stop will allow you to set the depth in which the flags will be inserted. You can clean the Flagshooter with a garden hose, but you can also use compressed air.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are survey markers?

Land survey markers can be used to “mark” specific survey points, and they can be used in both geodetic and land surveying. Survey markers are sometimes referred to as “benchmarks,” but the term is typically reserved for markers that indicate elevation. Horizontal position markers that are used for triangulation are also referred to as “triangulation stations.”

How are markers used in surveying?

Land survey markers can be used to mark specific locations, which can be done with a nail that permanently attaches it to the ground or surface. They can be made with a hole of any size so they can accommodate a variety of nail types, and they can come in many different colors. Each state has its own set of regulations and guidelines about anything from tag sizes to materials. It may even have regulations about the information that’s required to be on the marked area.

Where can I buy quality survey markers?

Engineer Supply has a variety of items that can be used for surveying — from marking ribbon and tape to surveyor’s flagging. And all of them are made of the highest quality. Many of our products can withstand long-term exposure to ultraviolet light, which allows them to maintain their visibility and brightness. We even have targets and panels that can be used for aerial surveying. Feel free to look at the broad selection we have in stock, so you can find a product that’s right for you!

Can marking ribbon help with surveying?

Marking ribbon and flagging tape can be used to identify certain areas of a job site, which may be necessary for a variety of reasons. Some of them can include but may not be limited to:
  • Marking grade levels.
  • Marking utility lines.
  • Survey staking.
  • Marking boundaries.
Surveyors will often attach marking ribbon to wooden stakes or lathes with some writing on them. One side will have a long number that they’ll be able to reference in a logbook, while the other side will have abbreviations that give reference to what the stake marks are referencing.

What types of markers are used in surveying?

There are a variety of markers that can be used in a number of applications. This can include marking ribbon, stake flags, and aerial targets or panels. You can also find them in many different sizes, colors, and configurations. Be sure to look at the broad selection of land survey markers and flagging tape we have at Engineer Supply.
